The Gift

Alas, my dear readers, I have succumbed to the apathy of a nonblogger. Because I haven't updated recently, I felt you were in store for a grand gift. I proudly present pictures from my trip to Ecuador, which spanned the New Year's last December/January. Enjoy!

Places:
The Otovalo Market

Vibracion Club (did not visit, due to time constraints, haha)

Stairs

What I love most: public art (tags) layered on top of public art

The Horror

The church in the plaza of Cotacachi

"G Spot Hamburgers"

El Panecillo

Quito

The countryside

People
This is how people watched the New Year's Eve Parade. In large, dense flocks.

Purportedly, one will have good luck for a year if they wear yellow panties on NYE. For this reason, street vendors selling them(?).
A pier overlooking a lake lost to oil contamination.

Nina.

Masks for sale, to be paired with an ano viejo and burned at midnight.

My Global Exchange tour group.

If we were at a Chinese restaurant, we would have ordered the "Happy Family." Yury, Tricia, and meself in traditional indigenous gear.

Tricia insists that one must take a "falling-down-the-stairs" picture in every famous city they visit. Hence, Charlotte.

A delivery truck. Fresh. Yum.

Sam, who kept pace with me on NYE and ended up with that mask on. Holding one of the 80 cent forties that could be bought nearly anywhere.

Cute kid with a llama in the foreground.
