Great Television

Fellow countrymen - we're entering a state of complete honesty, and subsequently we must acknowledge that for the majority of our lifetimes (I truly doubt whether anyone older than 21-22 reads this), there has been a dearth of quality television. I could cut off a digit for every great series (Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Fishing with John, Strangers with Candy, and presumably Twin Peaks because everything else David Lynch has done is incredible) and still be able to do some dope yo-yo tricks.

Because of this period of honesty, I'll be the first to say that 'This American Life' is a better radio program than it is a television program. Nonetheless, I was entertained by the first season and look forward to commencing the second, probably tomorrow. Miserable summer.

The only real benefit that the TV version offers is a funny glimpse of Ira Glass' desk in a unique location for each episode, like the Utah Salt Flats below.

A second positive factor circling the debate is the excellent logo that comes up every episode. I like the solid colors and the wit behind it. If I didn't own more than 50 tee-shirts, I would consider shopping around for one featuring the design.

In conclusion, if you haven't seen the television show, I recommend checking it out; more honestly, though, I recommend downloading a This American Life podcast, which is more than sufficient to quench one's needs for true accounts of this American strife. Or beauty. Your call.
